Project Ethos Goes Pink at LA Fashion Week
House of Blues & AMP Radio Host “Pink Themed” Event to Benefit Stand Up to Cancer
Los Angeles, CA – A sprawling Pink Carpet in conjunction with 97.1 AMP Radio’s “Pink month” will set the tone at the upcoming Project Ethos to be held on Friday, October 14th , 2011 at 8pm at the historic House of Blues Sunset Strip (8430 Sunset Blvd. West Hollywood, CA 90069), which will benefit Stand Up To Cancer. An “Ink It Pink” wall sponsored by Sharpie® will give VIP guests the opportunity to sign their name to show support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Joining in presenting this season’s event are 97.1 AMP Radio, Motorola, RunwayIcon.com, and vitaminwater zero™.
The evening will begin with a live concert featuring the sultry stylings of American Idol top 12 female performer Julie Zorrilla and will be headlined by the eclectic Black Cards featuring Fall Out Boy’s former bassist / front man Pete Wentz. His new project features a mix of electronica, ska, dance and reggae with female vocalist Bebe Rexha. This will be the band’s first Los Angeles performance. Crossroads Restaurant will host groundbreaking visual artists on display all night including Allison Reimold, Alexander dcd Smith, Tom Garner, James Naccarato, Ronnie Ray Mendez and Waelad Akadan. $tatusFaction, Gregory Siff, Kophns One and Mar all street artists from The Site Unscene will be doing live paintings. DJ sets will phase in and out between events on the main stage, and in the Foundation Room at House of Blues.
The signature gleaming white runway will feature the 10pm runway show. Headlining the fashion show is the sleek menswear line, I AM by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas. Additional collections will be presented by seven emerging Los Angeles based designers including BritBoy, GLAUDI by Johana Hernandez, Pentard Couture, Lauren Nicole, Multeepurpose, NAMI and Japanese import B by APERIRE. The 100 models will have their hair and make-up looks created by TNT Agency, the Official Styling Team for Project Ethos.
Official sponsor vitaminwater zero lends its continued support by sponsoring the “Flavor Fashionista Challenge.” Each designer is given the opportunity to win prizes valued up to $3,000 if their garment is chosen as the winning design as inspired by a vitaminwater zero flavor through a live text-to-vote. Dorian Pentard of Pentard Couture will be featured as the Official vitaminwater zero Scholarship Designer. Project Ethos and vitaminwater zero are proud to help Dorion, a soon to be F.I.D.M. graduate, launch his first collection. In addition, sponsors and designers Cardiwrap by Kymaro and Frederick’s of Hollywood Swim will continue their tour of fashion shows with Project Ethos.
After the fashion show, the event will not lose steam as DJ sets and special guest appearances will commence until last call.
$1 of every Pink Carpet ticket will be donated to Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and the event will raise awareness for SU2C’s mission. Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) is a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), a 501(c)(3)charitable organization. SU2C raises funds for “Dream Teams” of scientists collaborating on research that will get new therapies to patients quickly in order to save lives now.
